Texas Service Area
Ground pet transport across all four major Texas metros and every smaller city in between — plus dedicated support for military PCS moves to and from Fort Cavazos, Fort Bliss, Fort Hood, and Joint Base San Antonio. USDA registered, door-to-door, brachy-safe.
Texas is bigger than a lot of countries. The drive from El Paso to Beaumont is 850 miles — all inside one state. That kind of distance rewards careful planning: proper rest cadence for the animal, pre-identified vet stops along the route, and temperature management during the Gulf Coast summer (Houston humidity makes a 95°F day feel like 110°F to a dog).
We run a lot of Texas trips tied to military PCS moves. Fort Cavazos (formerly Fort Hood), Fort Bliss, Randolph AFB, and Joint Base San Antonio all show up regularly on our dispatch. PAX offers a 10% military discount on all trips, zero rush fees, and zero date-change fees — because PCS orders shift, and penalizing service members for that is wrong. Bring your orders or ID when you request a quote.
Texas is also a major hub for rescue transport, and we partner with 501(c)(3) rescues statewide under our shelter and rescue discount program. If you're moving animals out of an overcrowded Texas shelter to a rescue partner in another state, email us before quoting — we absorb the discount out of the admin share, not driver pay.
Typical price ranges for routes we run most often. Every quote is itemized and personalized — these are starting ballparks.
Ranges shown are for standard, healthy adult pets. Brachycephalic breeds (Bulldogs, Pugs, Frenchies, Boxers, etc.) and pets with medical needs are quoted case-by-case to reflect the extra care, monitoring, and coordination those trips require.
Texas is 773 miles east-to-west and 800 miles north-to-south. An intrastate trip like El Paso to Houston is longer than LA to Portland. We plan those routes with the same rigor as cross-country moves: proper rest stops, vet-accessible exits, and never running a driver past safe hours.
Houston, San Antonio, and coastal Texas hit dangerous heat index values from June through September. We shift pickup times earlier in the morning, run the hottest highway segments overnight, and require drivers to document cabin temperature every 2 hours on Texas summer runs.
Fort Cavazos, Fort Bliss, Fort Hood, Randolph AFB, Joint Base San Antonio, Naval Air Station Corpus Christi — Texas has more active-duty service members than any other state except California. PAX offers a 10% military discount, no rush fees on last-minute PCS orders, and no date-change fees when orders shift.
Texas shelters run at capacity year-round, and rescue partners in other states regularly pull from them. We work with 501(c)(3) rescues under our shelter/rescue discount program — email us with your EIN before requesting a quote and we'll confirm eligibility.
We pick up and deliver door-to-door throughout the state. These are just the metros where we run the most trips.

Yes — last-minute PCS bookings are one of the things we built around. No rush fees for military clients, no date-change fees if your orders shift, and we prioritize PCS moves when dispatching. The more notice you can give, the easier the logistics, but don't hesitate to reach out even if your window is tight.
June–September trips with brachy breeds (Bulldogs, Frenchies, Pugs, Boston Terriers) shift to overnight driving on the hottest stretches. We require cabin temperature documentation every 2 hours, altitude-limited routing, and pre-identified vet stops. There's a flat $0.15/mile brachycephalic surcharge to cover the extra care.
Yes. 501(c)(3) rescues can email us with their EIN before requesting a quote — we'll apply the shelter/rescue discount, which comes out of PAX's admin share rather than driver pay. If you're doing a large multi-animal transport, we can talk through logistics separately.
