According to IRS Publication #521, the cost of shipping your pets via ground transportation to your new duty station is a deductible moving expense for PCS relocations. This applies to both ground and air pet transport.

Is military pet transport tax-deductible?
Yes for active-duty PCS moves. IRS Publication 521 lists the cost of shipping your pets to a new duty station as a deductible moving expense when the move is connected to a PCS. PAX provides itemized receipts that map cleanly to a Form 3903 entry. Consult your tax advisor for situation-specific guidance.
Does the 10% military discount stack with other discounts?
The 10% military discount applies on top of the base quote. Brachycephalic surcharge and medical-care tier (if applicable) are calculated first, then the 10% military discount is taken. Rescue-rate or shelter-partner discounts are case-by-case and don't typically stack.
What happens if my PCS orders change after I book?
Zero date-change fees. PCS orders move; transport dates move with them at no extra cost. If the destination changes entirely (e.g., new orders to a different base), we re-quote the new route — you only pay the difference if the new route is longer.
Will any other family's pet ride in the same vehicle as mine?
No. Standard PAX service is single-driver, single-vehicle, your pet only — no relays, no shared van, no other customers' animals in the cabin. The same driver picks up at your origin and delivers at your destination.
