Chicago Service Area
Door-to-door ground pet transport across Chicagoland — the Loop, Lincoln Park, Wicker Park, Lakeview, Evanston, Oak Park, and the North Shore. The Midwest hub for cross-country runs on I-90, I-94, I-80, and I-55.
Chicago is PAX's Midwest hub. Geographically it's the crossroads of the continental interstate system — I-90/I-94 runs from Boston to Seattle via Chicago, I-80 runs from NYC to SF via Chicago, I-55 runs from Chicago to New Orleans, and I-65 runs south to Louisville, Nashville, and the Gulf. Most cross-country runs between the coasts pass through Chicago; we can schedule long-haul stops and interchanges here when the routing works.
Chicago apartment pickups mirror NYC and SF — high-rises along the lakefront (Streeterville, Gold Coast, River North, South Loop) require reserved elevators and loading-dock coordination. Neighborhood pickups in Lincoln Park, Wicker Park, Logan Square, and Andersonville use street-level loading with permit when needed. Winter is the real variable. Lake-effect snow and polar vortex cold can flex departure timing December through March; we monitor and reschedule without penalty when necessary.
Typical price ranges for routes we run most often. Every quote is itemized and personalized — these are starting ballparks.
Ranges shown are for standard, healthy adult pets. Brachycephalic breeds (Bulldogs, Pugs, Frenchies, Boxers, etc.) and pets with medical needs are quoted case-by-case to reflect the extra care, monitoring, and coordination those trips require.
Dispatch timing varies by route and season — some pickups go out within a few days, others may take up to a week to line up a driver. Either way, we'll get you a driver for whatever move you need. Tell us your timeline on the quote form and we'll give you a realistic window.
Most coast-to-coast PAX runs pass through Chicago. We can sometimes time a Chicago pickup to align with a westbound or eastbound route that's already scheduled — mention your flexibility on the quote and we'll see if it lines up.
Streeterville, Gold Coast, River North, South Loop — reserved elevators, loading-dock slots, COI paperwork. Our coordinator handles building-side logistics before pickup day.
