PAX Pet Transport is a trade name operated by Tres Gauchos LLC, a Virginia limited liability company ("we," "us," or "our"). We provide door-to-door ground pet transport services throughout the continental United States. Our principal place of business is in Virginia.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

When you request a quote or book a trip, we collect:

Your name, email address, and phone number
Pickup and delivery addresses
Pet information (name, species, breed, weight, age, and any medical notes)
Preferred travel dates and any special instructions
Payment information — processed securely through Stripe; we do not store card numbers

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website we may collect:

IP address and approximate location
Browser type, operating system, and referring URL
Pages viewed and time spent on the site
Cookie identifiers (see Section 4)

GPS and location data

During an active transport, we collect real-time GPS location data from the driver's device solely for the purpose of providing live tracking to you and for operational safety. This data is retained for 90 days after trip completion and then deleted. We do not sell or share GPS data with third parties.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, operate, and improve our pet transport services
Communicate with you about your quote, booking, and trip status
Send transactional emails (booking confirmations, trip updates, invoices)
Process payments and prevent fraud
Respond to your inquiries and support requests
Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

4. Cookies

Our website uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to make the site function properly and to understand how visitors use it. We use:

Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users, drivers, or animals in our care.
Business transfer: If Tres Gauchos LLC is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the same privacy protections.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations. Trip records are retained for a minimum of 3 years for accounting and liability purposes. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us (see Section 9), subject to our legal retention obligations.

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse. All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted via TLS (HTTPS). However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.

You may contact us at any time to:

Access or correct the personal information we hold about you
Request deletion of your personal information
Opt out of marketing communications (you will still receive transactional emails)
